Max Fannin
Founder / Creative Director / Cinematographer – Dallas
Max Fannin is an award-winning cinematographer with a gift for capturing emotion through visual storytelling. Born in Austin, TX and then raised in South Korea and later in the U.S., Max discovered his love for film at a young age. A business economics graduate from UC Santa Barbara, he began his creative journey after receiving his first digital camera in 2003.
Completely self-taught, Max founded Max Video Productions in 2012 with a focus on quality and authenticity. His work has since been featured on national TV and around the world, earning five Telly Awards—including two Golds for documentary filmmaking in Cambodia.
Driven by passion and purpose, Max uses the camera to tell compelling stories that connect people, evoke feeling, and bring moments to life.
Curtis Smith
Director / Producer / Operations – Dallas–Fort Worth
Curtis Smith has spent the last 20 years immersed in the corporate, commercial, and live events side of video production—building companies, teams, and systems that keep complex productions running smoothly. He has owned and operated both a full-service video production company and a rental company serving the film industry, giving him a deep understanding of everything it takes to bring a project from concept to screen.
Curtis first discovered his passion for live and post-production while working at a mega church in Sacramento, California, where he fell in love with the power of visuals to move people. Since then, he’s worn just about every hat in the industry—producer, director, cinematographer, editor, and more—while also building and growing internal video departments, establishing workflow, process, and procedure from the ground up. Along the way, his work has earned multiple Telly Awards, Muse Awards, and a PR Daily award as a director.
At Max Video Productions, Curtis serves as Director/Producer on set and leads Operations behind the scenes. He’s a business-minded creative with a knack for business development and implementation, especially within production environments. Above all, Curtis believes people come first: he’s a team-focused leader and a strong advocate for building the right crew culture to create outstanding work—because in his view, every great project is the result of a great team.

After studying Marketing and Management, Dan joined the top commercial production house in South Dakota, earning multiple Emmy Awards before moving to California. He works part-time at CSU Chico, guiding students and faculty in documentary filmmaking.
Dan’s most recent Emmy came for The Impact of the Frolic, a documentary airing nationally on PBS. With a growing passion for visual storytelling, he’s always eager to bring emotion and energy to each project he takes on.
